Arbuda is an Ayurvedic concept describing large, deep rooted, and non suppurative growths. It is often compared with neoplastic conditions in contemporary medicine, including Benign and Malignant tumors. Ayurvedic literature from Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita emphasizes the imbalance of doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and derangement of Mamsa and Rakta dhatus in the pathogenesis of Arbuda. This paper aims to explore Arbuda’s classical definition, its pathology, causative and relieving factors, doshic impact, and its correlation with modern medical concepts of tumors and cancer.
